TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Registration and tuition fees for group lessons
Registration is entered into for a minimum of one season.
After registration, the tuition fee owed will be collected via direct debit in one installment, two installments, or ten monthly installments (you can indicate your preference on the registration form).
We do not grant access to lessons if the tuition fee has not been paid before the specified date, and we would like to point out that once registered, a student is obligated to pay at all times.
Students aged 21 and older are subject to VAT. VAT (21%) is included in the lesson rate for students aged 21 and over.
Lesson rates may be adjusted per season.
It is not possible to catch up on or offset missed lessons.
Tickets for performances/shows by the Babette Labeij Music Academy are not included in the tuition fee.
Due to group sizes and building the groups, you need to re-register every season.
There will be no refund or adjustment of tuition fees if a student unenrolls prematurely. No refunds will be granted to students who paid in advance for a full season but wish to stop earlier for any reason.
Pregnancy: there is an option to freeze the agreement for a maximum duration of 16 weeks (the official duration of maternity leave). A pregnancy certificate from a midwife/doctor stating the expected due date must be provided for this.
Under no circumstances will tuition fees be refunded in the event of early termination. Refunds of tuition fees are only possible in the case of:
Moving outside a 30-kilometer radius from one of our lesson locations (Amsterdam/Hilversum) / emigrating. Confirmation from the municipality showing the moving date must be provided. Please inform us at least 4 weeks before moving.
Long-term illness (more than 4 consecutive weeks). A doctor's note must be provided for this.
Trial lessons and presence of third parties
A trial lesson can only be requested and confirmed in advance upon request. You are not permitted to bring another person to the lesson without prior consent. Attending a lesson as a spectator is not possible. It is also not permitted to leave persons who are not participating in the lesson unattended in or around the lesson location during the lesson.
Private lessons
Private lesson packages
After purchasing a private lesson package, it is not possible to refund (part of) the lesson package or have it paid out in cash. Private lesson packages are valid for up to one year from the date of purchase.
Cancellation terms for private lessons
You can cancel your private lesson up to 24 hours before the start of the lesson by clicking the link in the private lesson confirmation. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the start of the private lesson, you will receive a new code to schedule a new singing lesson. This code is valid for one year. For cancellations made within 24 hours of the start of the lesson, we cannot offer a new code. If something unexpectedly occurs on BLMA's side causing the lesson to be canceled, we will work with you to find a suitable solution/time to reschedule the lesson. BLMA never issues refunds upon cancellation.
Gift vouchers
A gift voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of issue. The gift voucher can be redeemed within this validity period. After this period expires, the gift voucher will no longer be valid and the code can no longer be used.
Liability
Babette Labeij Music Academy is not liable for the loss of or damage to coats and other personal belongings of our visitors/students. BLMA is not liable for injuries, damage, etc. sustained by visitors/students of the Academy before, during, or after singing lessons. Any damage caused by a student/visitor of BLMA will be recoverable from the student/visitor of the Academy based on legal liability.

National measures
Approach to group lessons
In the event of (recurring) national measures, such as COVID-19 measures or national weather warnings that prevent (public) travel, we will offer our lessons according to an adjusted schedule and/or online. By way of exception, attending group singing lessons via Zoom is only possible for the above-mentioned reasons. If we are forced to offer our lessons in a different manner due to government-imposed measures, we will not refund tuition fees, nor will it be possible to quit early or freeze group lessons. Please refer to our general terms and conditions for more details.
Approach to private lessons
In the event of (recurring) national measures, such as COVID-19 measures or national weather warnings preventing (public) travel, private lessons will be converted to online private lessons. If we are forced to offer our lessons in a different manner due to government-imposed measures, we will not refund tuition fees, nor will it be possible to freeze private lessons. Please refer to our general terms and conditions for more details.
Consent for the use of visual media
At BLMA, we are immensely proud of all our enthusiastic students who, guided by our passionate, professional vocal coaches, deliver fantastic results time and time again. Because we are so proud, we love sharing photos and videos of our lessons and performances on our social media channels.
Having fun while singing is always our top priority, and we believe it's essential that our students feel comfortable. We handle filming and photography during lessons with care; we clearly announce when filming takes place, and we will never post footage that portrays students unfavorably.
We want to ensure our policy regarding media creation at BLMA and during other BLMA activities, as well as the use of this content on our social media channels, is clear to everyone involved. Separate consent will always be requested from the relevant students and/or their parents for specific promotional materials and other media.
Students and/or parents may sometimes capture photos or videos during our activities. Babette Labeij Music Academy has no control over this, but we rely on students and/or parents to be considerate when posting media on social media.
Upon registration, we ask for your separate consent to use media featuring you. Parents/guardians must give consent on behalf of students under the age of 16.
